FAQ

  • Who are you?

I'm Gwyneth Angharad, born and bred in North Wales. I'm a teacher and coach with 10+ years of language teaching experience, and I accidentally became a little famous through my Youtube Learn Welsh videos - so I thought I'd try creating a course or two.

  • Are you teaching North or South Wales Welsh?

North! I grew up in North Wales (Pen Llyn) and so that's what I teach. The majority of resources you'll find are in South Wales Welsh, so this will make a nice change.

  • What are your credentials?

I've been speaking Welsh since I was born (well, give or take a year or two), and have been teaching it online for around 8 years. I have a TEFL certificate, which stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, but I've been able to adapt a lot of it to Welsh... and I have a background in Psychology.

  • What will I get from "Siarad Fatha Gog"?

If you are a TOTAL beginner to Welsh, you will go from zero to being able to ask directions, order in a cafe, talk about your hobbies, even talk about what you did on the weekend and your upcoming plans, give your opinion, discuss the weather, tell the time, and much more!! If you're already familiar with a lot of this, the course will challenge you to understand fast, spoken North Wales Welsh - JUST the way people actually speak in Pen Llyn (the Lleyn Peninsula). For anyone who's been learning for ages but still has no idea of what locals are talking about, the listening practices of my course can really help you to hone your ear for real life conversation.

  • Will you teach me Welsh?

Yes, I also offer private lessons via Skype - email me at [email protected] for more information!
